I have been using these wipes since the beginning of the summer. I have been taking my son to the pool 5X a week usually for 2 hours a day and using only 1 wipe a day on him (to cover his face and arms because he wears a rash guard). And then I use the rest on my face and chest. We have NEVER gotten any sunburn using these wipes. They are so easy and quick to apply, which is key with a 5 year old!! Yes, the wipes do not feel wet, but that is part of the appeal!! They leave a very thin film, with no color and have no scent. It's a little disappointing to me that people write reviews with very little experience with a product. I bought the Supergoop travel wipes because they are carry-on friendly for airplane travel and would not "count" in my limited allowance for liquids. I did not try them out until arriving at my very sunny and hot destination of Las Vegas. When I took one out to apply, I found that they were rather dry and I was concerned that I wouldn't get enough sunscreen coverage to avoid a burn. It was like wiping a just barely damp paper towel on me; I couldn't imagine how one wipe would protect my whole body. I ended up adding liquid sunscreen that I borrowed from a friend in the easy-to-burn areas like shoulders, chest and face. I took a chance on the Supergoop wipe coverage for my legs and stomach. I was out in the sun for about 2 hours late afternoon and although my legs and stomach did not officially burn, I got a lot more color than one would expect using sunblock and only being out in late afternoon.
