5.0 out of 5 stars best sunblock ever made, July 20, 2006

I practice dermatology in Charleston, SC. I have given this sunblock to over 500 patients, and have not had one person develop a contact allergy to it. Most importantly, Blue Lizard provides complete UVA+UVB protection. In practical use it has proven much more effective than other SPF 30-50 sunblocks, at preventing sunburn. I also give this to patients with Lupus or patients on Accutane.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, July 1, 2006

Although this sunscreen does not have that pasty white look like some other zinc-oxide sunscreens, it is greasy, slippery and shiny, plus it stings if you get it in your eyes. Not a good sunscreen for the face. The Blue Lizard Sensitive sunscreen is a better choice in my opinion, but the trade off is that the Sensitive sunscreen (which has zinc oxide and titanium dioxide) has that pasty look. I planned to use this sunscreen for surfing and running but I wouldn't recommend it for those or similar activities.

Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
I have just begun to use this sun screen at the advice of my dermotologist. He recommended this particular product because it protects against all of the different harmful rays from the sun. He said that most off-the-counter sun screens only protect from some of them, but Blue Lizard protects from 100% of the rays due to its ingredients of titanium and zinc oxide. He uses it himself, and he said that all of the dermatologists at his medical facility also use it. He told me that it's hard to find, but I could order it easily and economically from Amazon.com. He told me that he gets no "kick-back" from his recommendation, and that he is just informing me that this is the best product on the market as it has been thoroughly tested and discussed in medical journals. I hope this helps someone who is considering the purchase of a sun screen.
