California Baby SPF30+ Sunscreen Lotion, Everyday/Year Round, Water Resistant and Hypo-Allergenic, 2.9 Ounce

Product Description

Sunscreen-Everyday/Year Round SPF 30 2.9 oz. Cream Product description:Pop this convenient PABA free, non-chemical sunblock stick into your pocket, purse or diaper bag. The whole family will love this easy-to-use stick that gives those "hot spots" a boost of extra protection. Our non-chemical sunblock stick employs a highly micronized, non-whitening titanium dioxide that scatters and reflects dangerous UV rays, offering UVA-UVB broad-spectrum protection. Non-staining formula. It glides on smoothly for easy application. May be used in combination with our SPF30 sunscreen lotions. Dermatologists and the American Cancer Society urge the use of sunscreen everyday and year-round.Age:The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) states that if exposure to the sun is unavoidable and your baby is under 6 months, a non-chemical sunscreen (like ours) should be used, consult with your physician. The AAP recommends that because an infant's skin is very thin and sensitive, infants under 6 months should be kept out of the sun.Scent:Beautiful aromatherapy blend that includes lemongrass.Water Resistant:Retains effectiveness after 80 minutes of activity in water or perspiring. For Grownups:Moms, our sunblock works great under make-up because it is non-greasy and creates a nice "cover-up" base under foundation or powder. Winter use: Since studies show that the risk of sunburn increases at higher altitudes, it's especially important to wear sunscreen on the slopes. Even if you stay at the same elevation all winter long, don't let winter's chill fool you, the sun is still strong and can do lots of damage to your skin. The gentle water resistant formula won't drip into your eyes and sting when you sweat. Clouded vision from runny sunscreen is annoying on the beach and on the ski slopes it can be downright dangerous.Tip:Wearing a hat and su

5.0 out of 5 stars smooth even coverage that lasts for hours, July 5, 2009

I climb mountains, so my skin gets the maximum possible exposure to the sun (direct, high altitudes = less atmospheric protection, and reflection off the snow from below). I purchased this and three other highly rated sunscreens. The others are zinc or titanium oxide based. All do a fairly good job of protecting my skin.

The big difference, and why this one wins out over the others is the smoothness of application. The others are rather 'stiff', and require a fair bit of working in to get good coverage and no white spots. I always end up coming home with a spot or two that got missed (elbows, back of the arm, etc) and are bright pink. Not to mention the white stains on my shirts. With this sunscreen, it goes on smoothly, lasts the 3-5 hours between applications (may last longer, but I don't even try), and I don't have sensitive pink spots in out of the way places.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not perfect., May 17, 2009
I got this product because it's one of the super safe sunscreens recommended by the environmental working group. It's great, but if you sweat a lot it does sting your eyes a little bit. I also got Badger sunscreen at the same time, and it was equally good but did not sting my eyes, so I recommend badger sunscreen over this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very gentle on my baby., October 8, 2007
My baby was going to be under 6 months during the hot, sunny summer months. I bought this sunscreen for her and found that it was gentle and effective. I could reapply it as needed and she was fine.
It goes on pretty thick and white so you can really make sure you're spreading it everywhere you want to. However, I did find a little goes a long way or else it's too thick and you can't get it all rubbed in.
Even after a beach vacation, she didn't get a ray of sun.
